VILLAGE | Human Frequency Street Docs
When I decided to start shooting Human Frequency Street Docs I didn't have a clear idea of how it would work, nor did I fully understand why I was compelled to begin the project in the first place.
Approach a stranger, ask for an interview, shoot some video and a few stills... How was I to know that my apparent random selection of humans with which to converse, would put me in direct contact with people placed on this earth to teach me something about myself?
I was introduced to Junior following a Manifesto T.O. panel on artist self-care. Our conversation began when I shared my ambivalence about being a public school teacher and working within a system that at times feels like the antithesis of education. His response contained two words that I'd never heard used together in one sentence: technology and village. I had to hear more.
I love that this segment ends with Junior beautifully summarizing the ideologies that fuel Human Frequency Street Docs: "If we are not communing, if we are not in relationship with one another, we are disconnected. We are ugly, We are dead."
One Human Frequency. Tune In ™
